Tip #6: Make Mistakes
Here is a pretty simple tip that I’m sure you have already heard, and that is, DON’T be afraid to make mistakes. Don’t let this fear of making mistakes stop you from speaking.
Mistakes are good! Why do you write a rough draft of your essay at school? You write a rough draft to have someone else correct your mistakes. What happens after you receive your rough draft back and your paper looks like it just fought in the Civil War with the amount of red pen marks on it? You take your paper; you look at your mistakes, and you learn how to write it the grammatically correct way. Now, you won’t make the same mistakes next time… Actually, bad news, I just lied; you will make the same mistakes next time.
You will make the same mistakes next time and the time after that and so on and so on. The good news is you will make the same mistakes less and less as you progress. Unfortunately, if you don’t speak, you won’t make mistakes, and if you don’t make mistakes, you won’t learn how to speak the proper way. I guess that is about it for this language learning tip. Now get out there, and start practicing your new language like you were a 3 year old child trying to use glue, tape and bubble gum to string a comprehensible sentence together!

Tip #3: Comete Errores
Aquí hay un tip (consejo) bastante sencillo que estoy seguro ya has escuchado, y es, “NO tengas miedo de cometer errores”. No permitas que este miedo a cometer errores te detenga de hablar.
¡Los errores son buenos! ¿Por qué escribes un borrador de tu ensayo en la escuela? Escribes un borrador para que alguien más corrija tus errores. ¿Qué pasa después de que recibes tu borrador y tu trabajo parece que acaba de luchar en la Guerra Civil con la cantidad de marcas de bolígrafo rojo en él? Tomas tu trabajo; miras tus errores, y aprendes cómo escribirlo de la manera gramaticalmente correcta. Ahora, no cometerás los mismos errores la próxima vez… En realidad, malas noticias, acabo de mentir; cometerás los mismos errores la próxima vez.
Cometerás los mismos errores la próxima vez y la siguiente, después de esa, y así sucesivamente. La buena noticia es que cometerás los mismos errores cada vez menos mientras progresas. Desafortunadamente, si no hablas, no cometerás errores, y si no cometes errores, no aprenderás a hablar de la manera adecuada. Supongo que eso es todo por ahora en este tip de aprendizaje de idiomas. ¡Ahora sal, y comienza a practicar tu nuevo idioma como si fueras un niño de 3 años tratando de usar pegamento, cinta y goma de mascar para armar una oración comprensible!
